You have reached the home page of the most exciting new development in healthcare: The Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (“CO-OP”) or the health cooperative.

The 2010 Affordable Care Act established funding to begin health coops throughout the country. The National Alliance of State Health Cooperatives (“NASHCO”) is the only association of state-based health cooperatives. We are composed of dedicated teams of volunteers throughout the nation seeking to establish a new way of accessing care using the cooperative governance model.

The cooperative healthcare system began in the 1930s, and has consistently proven itself as a model of quality care and low overhead expenses. For those tired of high costs, bureaucracy, and the impersonal care, we seek to develop a better, more humane care delivery and financing system.

We are in the development phase and your support is needed—please consider volunteering your time to make a member-owned health cooperative in your state a reality.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
